Grants for 501c3s

Dedicated to improving the quality of life for local patients fighting cancer.

Who can apply for a grant:

Money is awarded to 501(c)(3) organizations dedicated to supporting local cancer patients.

Grant Guidelines:

Here are some guidelines of services funds may be awarded for: (this is not an all-inclusive list)

Mammography exams, breast ultrasounds and other imaging tests necessary to detect cancer
Pap exams to screen for cervical cancer
Help with copays and deductibles
Home health equipment, groceries, rent, utilities and other living expenses
Transportation expenses

Limitations:

Bras for a Cause Gulf Coast will not consider applications for the following:

Individuals
Political campaigns
Non local projects
Organizations that redistribute funds to other tax-exempt groups without prior written approval of the BFACGC board of directors.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be non-profit, tax-exempt organizations that have received a 501(c)(3) designation from the Internal Revenue Service (applications pending will not be considered). Organizations applying for a Bras for a Cause Gulf Coast Grant must provide programs and services to the men and women of the Gulf Coast.

Performance Measurement:

Grant-recipient organizations are expected to communicate with the Bras for a Cause Gulf Coast Grants Director regarding the use of their grant awards. This includes a signed grant agreement between the organization and Bras for a Cause Gulf Coast.

Recipient organizations should recognize Bras for a Cause Gulf Coast as a contributor by one or both of the following:

Facebook post recognizing our donation
A blog or website post recognizing our contribution
If the organization does not have a website or Facebook page, a letter of recognition will be sufficient

In addition, recipient organizations will be required to complete a Grant Evaluation Report (within 6 months of funding) detailing the use of the funds received from Bras for a Cause Gulf Coast.

Application Deadlines and Timelines:
Applications are accepted November 1- August 31 annually.

Applications will be received by the grant committee and the Bras for a Cause Gulf Coast Grants Director will review all applications. After the evaluation has been completed, recommended applications will be forwarded to the Bras for a Cause Gulf Coast Board of Directors for approval. Applicants will receive notification of the board’s decision within 60 days and grant funds will be distributed within 75 days, if awarded.
